What makes Puerto Rican coffee special?

Puerto Rico's mountain regions — especially Yauco, where our coffee grows — combine high elevation (2,600–3,000 ft), rich soil, and cloud-covered microclimates that slow cherry maturation and deepen flavor. Puerto Rican coffee once supplied European royalty and the Vatican, but very little ever leaves the island. We bring it to your door.

What is an "87-point" coffee?

Specialty coffee is graded on a 100-point scale by certified tasters. Anything above 80 qualifies as "specialty grade." At 87 points, Oro De Santurce sits firmly in the premium tier of the world's coffee.

What does it taste like?

Passion fruit, mandarin orange, and candied almond, with balanced acidity and a clean finish. It's a medium roast — bold but smooth, never burnt.

Whole bean or ground — which should I order?

If you have a grinder, go whole bean: coffee stays fresh far longer in bean form. If you don't, our ground version is milled for drip and pour-over brewing.

How should I store it?

In the sealed bag or an airtight container, in a cool, dark place. Not the fridge — coffee absorbs moisture and odors.

How do I brew the perfect cup?

Start with about 1:16 — one gram of coffee per 16 grams of water (roughly 2 tablespoons per 6 oz cup). Water just off the boil (195–205°F). For the classic Puerto Rican experience, brew it strong in a greca and make a café con leche.

How long does shipping take?

Orders ship within 1–3 business days, then 3–7 business days in transit. You'll get tracking by email as soon as it ships.

Can I return my coffee?

Because coffee is perishable, we can't accept returns. But if your order arrives damaged, wrong, or goes missing, contact us within 7 days and we'll replace it or refund you — no hassle. See our Refund Policy for details.
